Laundry

Monday 22 Feb 21 Laundry Day

Monday 22Feb21

I woke up around 7:30 got up  walked and fed the dogs. Then I drove to Burger King and had a couple cups of coffee. When I got back to the RT the engine battery gage was at less than 10 volts and it wouldn't start. Luckily the generator started and I got the battery charger out of storage under my bed and connected it to  the battery and the power connector I had installed last summer. The connector is connected to what is basically an extension cord where the other end is connected to an AC outlet.

After a few minutes the RT started and I headed back to the Walmart to have the battery which is under warranty replaced. The tech at Walmart said the negative cable was lose and it should be okay now. I am skeptical, however the meter stays right around 12 VDC.

I then drove back to where I had parked for the last couple of nights and had a peanut butter and jelly sandwich.

I had planned to drive on South but decided to do a load of laundry. While at the laundry my cousin Linda text me to inform me my cousin Billy had had a massive stroke. She text me a few minutes later telling me that he had passed away. He was a few years older than me.

I remember when he, his older brother Houston and younger sister Brenda came to Oklahoma and stayed with us. I think their Dad, Uncle Arthur was sick at the time. He died very young from leukemia.

Houston, Karen, Billy and Rainey explored across 149th street in the woods there and made a pretend house. There were four trees that made a square. They had put branches going between the trees to act as walls. Then they placed some flat rocks inside the walls to make the floor.

I re-discover it a few years later. I use to love to go exploring across the street. Me and my friend Jimmy would go over there on Sundays when he came over between church services. That little "house in the woods" was there for many years. What a childhood we had!

After getting the laundry put away I walked the dogs for a bit and then nuked a can of beef stew for dinner.

Later I drove back to the same spot at Walmart and parked for the night.
